The captain or team coach can instruct a Northop player / players to leave the field of play and take no further part in the game or make a complaint against player / players after the game to the Northop Cricket Club Secretary. 

The captain, team coach or officials of Northop Cricket Club should forward any complaint against a Northop player / players by the umpires, opposition or spectators to the Northop Cricket Club Secretary as soon as possible.

In the event of the above, the Northop Cricket Club disciplinary committee (chairman, vice-chairman, secretary) should meet within three days.

The captain, player / players involved in incident and witnesses will receive a request in writing from the Northop Cricket Club secretary to attend a hearing.

The Northop Cricket Club disciplinary committee can decide to proceed with matters in the non-attendance of player / players unless a valid reason is given.

The captain and witnesses will report the events.

The player / players will give their evidence in person or through a representative if preferred.

After hearing the evidence, the Northop Cricket Club disciplinary committee will make its judgement and explain the decision to all concerned, including the North Wales Cricket League, at the end of the hearing and in writing.

If player / players are found guilty of breaching ECB and North Wales Cricket Club directives, the Northop Cricket Club disciplinary committee can

  • Recommend the Northop Cricket Club management committee should dismiss the player / players.
  • Suspend the player / players for a number of games depending on the seriousness of the incident.
  • Give the player / players a written warning about future conduct.

The Northop Cricket Club disciplinary committee can reserve the right to take into account the conduct of player / players during the three previous seasons.

A player / players can appeal against the decision provided new evidence is forthcoming. The secretary must receive new evidence in writing to enable the Northop Cricket Club disciplinary committee to decide if appeal is warranted.

If not warranted, the decision is final. If warranted, the secretary should set a date for appeal as soon as possible.

North Wales Cricket League Disciplinary Procedures

If action is taken by the North Wales Cricket League against a Northop player / players, the secretary will ensure all procedures are adhered to and will accompany the Northop player / players to a hearing.
