Snowdon Cycle & Summit Walk - Sat 25th June Print

 

We did it!!!!

The total raised was £3626.55

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored this challenge.

Pictured below are some of the cyclists, walkers and support team presenting the cheque to the BHF.

With partners and family a total of 24 cricket club members completed the Snowdon summit walk.

The riders also completed a total of 114 miles from Northop to Snowdon and back!!

Well done and thank you to everyone who took part including the support car and van crews.

Northop Old Boy's Cycle Club rode from Northop to Snowdon and then walked to the summit:

 

Day 1: Northop to Pen-y-Pass (50 miles) > summit walk (ascent Pyg Track - 3.5 miles, 2,372ft / descent Miners Track - 4 miles) > Pen-y-Pass to Betws-y-Coed (11 miles)

Day 2: Betws-y-Coed to Northop (51 miles) via the coastal route

 

Taking part in the ride was Stu Askey, John Atkins, Kev Blackwell, Richie Cowley, Simon Littler, Dave Mountfort and Steve Williams.

 

They were joined by partners, family, friends and club members for the walk up Snowdon.  

 

Ride route out: Northop, Ruthin, Cerrigydrudion, Betws-y-Coed, Capel Curid, Pen-y-Pass > see map below with elevation gain and profile.

Walk route: Ascent - Pyg Track, descent - Miner Track > starting and finishing at Pen-y-Pass.

Sunday morning was a ride back to Northop along the coastal route and a well earned beer!
